About Our Fabrics
Our Process –
We dye on three 100% cotton PFD fabrics – P&B Textiles Dyer’s Cloth,
Robert Kaufman’s Kona Cotton and Pimatex. While we continually test
other fabrics, these remain our favorite fabrics for meeting our
standards. We use Procion MX
Fiber-reactive dyes. We employ a variety of dyeing techniques and fabric
manipulations to achieve our unique pieces. We hope you will enjoy them
in your quilts as much as we enjoy making them. We love the opportunity
to strengthen our dyeing skills by matching or coordinating fabrics for
your special quilt – custom orders are always welcome!
Meet Patricia Wilson!
Born to quilt! There is no doubt in my mind that I was born to be a
quilter, or at least a fabricaholic. I remember standing by the sewing
machine, watching my mother sew and wishing I was “old enough” to do
it also. I have always loved fabrics. I love the colors and the feel,
but most of all I love the endless possibilities that lies in each piece
of fabric. My goal in life is to discover each and every one! I began
dyeing fabric in 1997, after watching a show on dyeing fabric by Liz
Porter and Marianne Fons. My life has not been the same since. I live in
Norman, Oklahoma (via Austin, Texas and Chandler, Arizona) with my
husband and K.C. (“Killer Cat”). The fabric has taken over, so there’s
no room for our son or his wife and their son (the best grandson ever) –
they moved to Texas.
Meet Susan Strout!
I have
been a quilter since the early 1990’s. This obsession began with a trip
to a local quilt shop while visiting my sister-in-law who lives in
Connecticut. It was the court house step quilt that hooked me! Patricia
and I have been neighbors for some time and she introduced me to fabric
dyeing. It’s been nothing but dye stained hands and awesome fabrics
since! My husband and I have twin boys and Norman, Oklahoma has been our
home since 1983.
